What is Tool Calibration Management?

A torque wrench that went out of calibration three weeks ago is not a tooling problem — it is every work order it touched since. Tool Calibration Management is the register that stops you finding that out afterwards: every tool and piece of test equipment in the repair station is held with its identity, location and status, the calibrated ones carry their interval and next-due date, and each issue from the crib is recorded against the work order it went out on.

Built for FAA Part-145, AS9110, and EASA Part-145 repair stations, where “show me the calibration record for the tool used on this job” is a question with one right answer and no time to look for it.

One Tool Register

Every tool, gauge and piece of test equipment in the station — owned, leased or personal-issue — with its number, description, manufacturer, serial, location and current status, so the inventory is a record rather than a walk around the shop.

Due Before It Lapses

Calibrated tools carry their interval, last calibration and next-due date, with the certificate attached. What is due this month, and what is already overdue, is a screen — not a spreadsheet somebody remembers to open.

Out, and Back

Issue a tool from the crib against a work order and a technician, and record its return and condition. At any moment you can answer what is out, who has it, and which job it is on.

When a tool fails calibration, the work orders it was issued to since it last passed are listed for impact assessment.

Reminders

Email as a calibration date approaches and again once it passes, so a lapse is something scheduled around, not discovered.

Reports & Audit Trail

Tool status, calibration due and issue history as printable reports, with every movement dated and named.

How the workflow runs
  1. Register — add the tool with its identity, owner and location, and mark whether it requires calibration.
  2. Set the interval — record the calibration interval, the last calibration and the vendor; the next-due date follows from it.
  3. Issue — the tool leaves the crib against a work order and a technician, with the date out and expected return.
  4. Return — the tool comes back, its condition is recorded, and it is available again.
  5. Recall for calibration — as the due date approaches the tool is flagged, sent out, and held from issue until it returns with a certificate.
  6. Prove it — the register, the certificates and the issue history are what an auditor reads, rather than a binder assembled the night before.
